Paper Toss: A Natural Talent

January 9, 2010 by Kemet Dugue

So, if you haven’t heard yet (being your anti-social self), I play this iPhone application/game called Paper Toss (by BackFlipStudios). I can honestly say that I am one of the best players in the world. I know it’s saying a lot, but it’s completely true. I started playing it over the summer, and after I realized I had potential, I started to play non-stop. Currently, in the original version, I am ranked 1st in New York ( on Easy) and 25th in the world. Someday, I will get to be number one in the world, but that will be a while. I seem to have more in my life now. Seriously.

I am also playing other iPhone games, which include an online leader board, such as: Polyhedra, Sheep Launcher Plus, Run!. iCopter, Canabalt, FingerSpring, Push Button, Hold Button, Flight Control, KickUps, Runway, Harbor Havoc 3d, and Doodle Jump. Yeah I play these games in my “spare time”.

A New Year, A New (Insert Useless Resolution)

January 1, 2010 by Kemet Dugue

So, a couple of weeks ago, I thought about my blog. It’s wasn’t like regular thinking, but more a deep , non-emotional thinking. And I thought that I should really update my blog more often. I mean, I started to, but then I stopped, and started again, then stopped. But this time, it’s going to be different. Yes, I know I have said this before, but now, I’m motivated more than ever. Okay, that was I lie, but I promise you I will be updating my blog on a minimum of three times a week.  And that’s my only real resolution for this year.

With that said, I can’t wait. I’m going to make this blog more open, instead of concentrating on certain things that could be categorized as “boring”. I don’t like to brag, but I have a good feeling about this.

And The Fame Keeps Going

five

Well, I wouldn’t say that I am surprised that I was in an article about our school winning the championship. I kind of expected it, only because I was interviewed right after our championship. Anyway, this time around, this article is just about our team, which I can honestly say is my first real article. All the other articles that just had my name in it and really nothing about me at all. This article, which is found on fiveborosports.com, was well-written and only contained content about our team.

I’ll give you the first few lines, then you the read the article on your own.

“Kemet Dugue recalled vividly how he felt after falling short in last year’s CHSAA Class B final to Salesian. ‘Losing to them was the worst feeling,’ he said. ‘I can still remember. I was devastated.”

Now, if that doesn’t sound like an article that you wouldn’t want to read, then I’m sorry, you completely stupid, seriously.

You can find the article, Molloy knocks off Salesian, wins CHSAA Class B tennis title, on fiveborosports.com.

2009 Undefeated CHSAA “B” Tennis Champions

May 18, 2009 by Kemet Dugue

Yup. It’s all there in the title. I know most of you probably just came to my blog to see if we won or not, and most likely were going to make fun of me if we didn’t, but it’s okay, because we won and you can’t make fun of me. It’s a good thing we didn’t lose. Because if we did lose, I wouldn’t have another blog post for another 2 months. Yes, it takes me an average two months to get back into myself if I have been hurt. I mean, 2 months without www.kemetdugue.com is like food without 2 months, you probably would have died. Well, anyways, I have the probably to most interesting story of how we won this championships. And trust me, I didn’t expect any of it.

Well, to start things off, we were missing a player. And it turns out, he plays 1st singles. So, you can imagine me during that bus ride. I can honestly say, I was having that time of the month. You know, that time. It turns out that he was already at the USTA, which was a relief, but then, turned out not to be. He said he wasn’t going to play today. The excuse: his leg was hurting him. The real reason: his felt that I didn’t deserve the MVP, and as a way to show the coach his anger, he wasn’t going to play. It turns out that most of the team was actually mad at me. Yeah, the very few times in my life that people have been mad at me.

Eventually (and I do mean that), I finally got him to play. I mean, who could say no to me? But yet again, there was another problem. Coach was unsure of him and decided to change the line up. I mean, it wasn’t that big of a problem. He put me as 1st singles and the other guy as 2nd singles, which really doesn’t make a difference considering all the times I played Salesian’s 1st singles, I lost except for once. Okay, it was a huge problem. So far, this day has not been going well. We were unprepared and I knew for a fact we were going to lose. I almost wanted to cry, but I had to play and I didn’t want my opponent to see that.

Before, I knew it, every match was finished except for mine. It was tied. Yes, I couldn’t believe it either. This sounded just like a movie, but it wasn’t because I know I can’t act. If you didn’t realize it yet, my match was the deciding match. At this point, I would have rather wanted our team to lose because pressure is not my strong point.

I won the first set 7-5, lost the second set 6-2, and was winning the third set 4-1. In between every point, I made a prayer out to God, because there was no way I was going to win this. I wasn’t even supposed to play 1st singles, it was so unexpected. Before I knew it, it was match point for me. He served it, I hit it back, and he hit it out. I won. I shook his hand, and looked out at my team. They ran and hugged me, because jumping on top of me on concrete isn’t the best solution. I couldn’t believe it. No, I know a lot of people just say that a lot, but for once, I really couldn’t believe it. And then I thought, you can prepare for anything, but you never can really know the outcome until it happens.

For the record, I did all this winning stuff injured. Yeah, it is appropriate at this time to call me superman (or any other male superhero of your choice).

The Biggest Day of My Life

May 18, 2009 by Kemet Dugue

chsaa

I’m sure you all know what today is. I mean, I have been reminding you about this day since you were born. Okay, maybe not from when you were born. But, I know, I have mentioned this at least once. Well, I’ll tell you again. Today is the CHSAA Tennis Division B Championships. Yeah, today. Well, were playing the same team as last year except I know for sure that there is going to be a different outcome. Don’t ask me why, because I’m not going to give you a proper reason, but I just know were going to win this year. Were playing Salesian High School. I’m not going to lie; it’s kind of hard to write this post. First, because my mom is rushing me to get to school even though I am no where near late and, second, because every time I either talk or write about the tennis, I always remember what happened last year and how we should have won. We were so prepared and deserved it more than any other team (including Salesian). I can’t help but think that even in times when you are prepared, you may lose in the end.

NOTE: I know for a fact that my last sentence made you think. Yeah, I’m good like that. Seriously.

Predictions

May 12, 2009 by Kemet Dugue

mvpIt’s time for my famous (well, not famous) predictions. Today, I will be making predictions on what awards I will get/not get for the Archbishop Molloy Athletic Awards Night. First, let me tell you about my predictions. Most of my predictions are right. No lie. When I’m in the zone, my predictions will be right. So, if you don’t think my predictions are not going to be correct, I don’t have anything to tell you. Seriously, if you have a problem with my predictions, you can still live your life. I really don’t care. Second, let me give you a background on Molloy’s Athletic Awards Night. For each sport, there are two awards, the MVP (Most Valuable Player) and the Coach’s Award. Last year (freshman year for you retards), I received the MVP Award for the Boy’s Varsity Tennis Team. Anyways, here are my predictions (as I predicted…… I know that was funny):

For the Boy’s Varsity Tennis Team, I will probably receive the Coach’s Award. You’re probably thinking why I’m not going to receive the MVP Award. I’ll tell you why. Because I’m a jock, I did both Outdoor Track and Field and Tennis in the same season. Yeah, you can call me superman, but I wasn’t able to commit to both. Remember, I had to make that decision.

For the Boy’s JV Soccer Team, I will probably receive nothing. Yeah, nothing. No explanation for that.

For the Sophomore Track and Field Team, I will probably receive the MVP Award. I, mean, I did everything for them. I mean because of track, I’m partially injured.

Well, there you have it, my predictions. Love or hate them, there my predictions. Some of that sentence was from a song, but I forget the artist.

Not Even Worth It

May 9, 2009 by Kemet Dugue

knee

Even though I got to compete at the Freshman/Sophomore Track City Championships, it really wasn’t worth it. I came in 2nd for the triple jump and 4th for the long jump. I set a personal record in the triple jump, getting 41 feet. But for the long jump, I sucked. I sucked really bad that I don’t even want to tell you what I got (even though you can check it on the results, but we all know your too lazy to do that).

On my second-to-last long jump, I landed really weird, and now I am in soooooooo much pain. My left knee makes this “popping” sound everytime I try to bend it. I am terrified right now. The people told me to ice it when I get home, but I guess I can write a post and put ice on my knee at the same time (or can I?). Anyways, I think I am going to the hospital because my dad is having a panic attack and thinks my athletic career is over. I’d love to write more, but I have to take a trip to the hospital.

P.S. I know this was probably the most boring post you have ever read. I just thought some of you would care that my athletic career may be over because of this injury. But, who cares, I only want to compete in track and field in college (I was being 100% sarcastic)

Judgement Day (Part I)

May 5, 2009 by Kemet Dugue

kid

Yes, part I of Judgement Day. We have a big match against Salesian, our archnemesis. Well, I wouldn’t call them our archnemesis, but more like the team we have to beat since we lost to them last year in the finals. I have this under control. I’m not even worried. That’s why its so easy for me to type this post.

Anyways, I have followed my supersititous rules in order to win this game. have no done my homework and anything that has to do with school. I have devoted this day completely to this tennis match and nothing else. On the other hand, I do have a Spanish Test today. Ah, whatever, spanish is facile (that’s spanish for easy).

See you guys (well, not see, some of you have never seen me before) in a couple of horas (spanish for hours, I’m feeling a 100 on this test).

I’m in a Newspaper (and I know you’re jealous)

May 4, 2009 by Kemet Dugue

NEWSPAPER

What can I say? Well, for starters, I’m not surprised. Not at all. Not even one bit surprised, okay maybe 3% surprised, but that’s not even a lot. As usual, I was cheking my name on Google and the normal searches came up, like my shirtless model-like pictures, my world famous blog, some other crap, but there was something I hadn’t seen before. It wasn’t an article not about me but it had my name in the newspaper. Being my curiuos self, I clicked on the link and read through the article and found out something about me that I would have never figured out. I later figured out that the article was published on March 31, which was 2 months ago. But, nonetheless, I’ll give you the section on me and maybe you might be able to figure it out (I have no confidence in you whatsover, so I’ll probably give you the answer myself). Here it is, from Spring Preview: Boy’s Tennis (Queens Courier) :

“Archbishop Molloy, in the ‘B’ Division, will rely on senior Alex Tokarz and sophomore Kemet Dugue to play first and second singles, respectively. Molloy head coach Matt Hunter is setting his sights on winning the city ‘B’ championship.”

Well, if you were unable to find out what I found something about me that I never figured out, you’re completely stupid and worthless. Just kidding, well, for some of you. Anyways, despite what my parents think, I have found out that I am reliable. Yes, reliable. It’s says it right there in the article.

Well, I’d love to keep writing until my fingers bleed, but I have something really important to do. And no, I am not going to call my mommy while she is at work and tell her that she was wrong when she called me irresponsible.

Yeah, You Really Didn’t Miss Much

Yeah, the Academic Awards Night was nothing special. No, I’m totally serouis when I say this but it was nothing to be proud of, well, except for the afterparty and the after afterparty, which was off the chain (yeah, I’m aloud to use slang). I mean, well, nothing special for the normal smart kids. The kids who had over 100 averages received more awards, but come on, those are not normal kids. There those youknowwhat kids. I was surprised at how many mistakes they made though. They forgot to call the Class of 2011’s Principal List Kids, and let me tell you, they were about to cry if their names weren’t called (probably the funnies thing I ever saw) Oh, and the certificates. Some of the names on the certificate were not even centered correctlty, and I know they wanted to center it because everybody centers important things. Probably the highlight of the awards ceremony was the Asian parents filming their kids getting the award, as if it were graduation or something to boast to other peple about.

Ofcourse, my parents stayed for the snacks after all. I mean, the snacks were free and we even got to take some of the cookies home.By the way, I have school in about an hour and I have no reason why I am writing this post so early and I can’t explain why I am eating th chocolate chip cookie from last night either.
